Please note that content moderation and user behaviour are explained on the Futurium Use Policy page.

This section explains the rules for community-level content management, including:

  • The types of content that may be used in the community.
  • Limits on content creation.
  • Where content may be published.

For practical instructions on creating, editing, or publishing content, please refer to the relevant earlier sections of this guide, such as “Adding Posts”, “Adding Events”, “Adding Pages”, and “Adding Comments”. For more advanced options, see “Group administration settings”, in particular the subsection “Content: Oversight and moderation workflows”.

Type of content

On Futurium, managers oversee the main types of content published and discussed within their community. This includes:

  • Posts: The basic and most commonly used content type for sharing updates, news and discussion topics. Managers can use posts to keep members informed, encourage engagement, and maintain a regular flow of communication within the group
  • Events: Used to announce and promote meetings, workshops, webinars or other activities. Managers should ensure event details are accurate, up to date, and published in good time to support participation.
  • Pages: Designed for static or long-term information, such as guidance, reference material, or structured resources. To ensure visibility, pages should be linked through the group’s navigation menu so that members can easily find them.
  • Comments: If enabled for the group, comments allow members to interact with content such as posts and events. Depending on the group’s settings, comments may be moderated, meaning they only become visible after approval by a Moderator or Community Manager, and they may also be rejected. In some groups, the comments feature may be disabled entirely, in which case members cannot add comments to content.

Limitation for the content creation

By default, the platform applies the following limits to regular users:

  • Can create up to 6 posts or events per day
  • And add up to 6 comments per day.

Once a user reaches either limit, the system automatically prevents further content creation of that type and displays an informational message on the platform.

Moderators and Community managers are exempt from these limitations.

Posting permissions: Where can members post?

As a Community Manager, you can decide where members are allowed to publish content.

This setting is managed in the group’s collections, where you can choose which collections members can post in or restrict posting permissions.

To change posting permissions:

  • Go to the group homepage to see the Group administration settings.
  • Click the “Content” tab.
  • Select “Collections”.
  • Choose the collection you want to update and edit it.
  • In the “Group Member” section, find the "Create content" checkbox.
    • Ticked: If it is ticked, group members can create posts in that collection.
    • Unticked: If it is unticked, group members cannot post in that collection.

If you need help or are unsure how to change this setting, please contact the Futurium team.
