Whether you are creating a post, an event or a page in Futurium, you can add different content blocks such as text, documents, images and videos.

This section explains how to add, edit, remove, collapse and reorder each type of content block.

Add content blocks

Futurium supports four types of content blocks: Text, Document, Image and Video. Let’s see how to add each of them. 

Add Text  

When you start creating content, a text block appears by default. You can then add other blocks or additional text blocks. 

This is where you can share your ideas, ask questions, provide updates, or contribute resources. 

  • Click the “Add Text” button to enter the content. 

Formatting tools 

You can use the editor that includes tools such as:

  • Bold, italic, underline 
  • Text alignment and indentation 
  • Paragraph and heading styles 
  • Hyperlinks
  • Bulleted and numbered lists 
  • Remove formatting
  • View the source code 

Add Document

You can attach one or several files.

  • Click the “Add Document” button to attach a file. 
  • Enter the file name.
  • Choose the file from your device. 
  • Maximum size: 200 MB per file.
  • Supported formats: TXT, DOC, XLS, DOCX, XLSX, PDF.

Additional publishing information

You can add extra information by clicking the “ADDITIONAL PUBLISHING INFO” drop-down. 

You can enter: 

  • URL: Start typing the title of a piece of content to select it. You can also enter an internal path such as /node/add or an external URL such as https://example.com. Enter <front> to link to the front page. Enter <nolink> to display link text only. Enter <button> to display keyboard-accessible link text only.
  • Link text
  • Author(s) 
  • Year of publication

Public option

  • If you tick “Public”, the document will be publicly accessible by anyone on the web. 
  • If you do not tick the “Public” (default option), the document will only be visible to people who already have access to the content where the document has been added.

Create document

  • Click the “Create Document” button. 

Edit or remove the document

After creating the document, you can click “Edit” to modify the name file or replace the file. 

You can also delete the file by clicking “Remove” button.

Repeat the same steps to add more documents.

Add Image 

  • Click the “Add Image” button to attach one file. 
  • Upload one image. 
  • Maximum size: 200 MB per image.
  • Supported formats: PNG, GIF, JPG, JPEG.

Image details

  • Add alternative text: a short description of the image for screen readers and for cases where the image does not load. Please note that this is important for accessibility.
  • Crop images if needed. 
  • You can Reset or Remove the crop.

Additional publishing information

You can add:

  • Caption: A caption appears under the image and identifies or describes the image and credits the source. Point out any aspects of the image that you think are relevant.
  • Link: 
    • URL: Start typing the title of a piece of content to select it. You can also enter an internal path such as /node/add or an external URL such as https://example.com. Enter <front> to link to the front page. Enter <nolink> to display link text only. Enter <button> to display keyboard-accessible link text only. 
    • Link text

Public option

  • If you tick “Public”, the image will be publicly accessible by anyone on the web. 
  • If you do not tick the “Public” (default option) the image will only be visible to people who already have access to the content where the image belongs to.

Create image

Once all the necessary information is there, click the “Create Image” button.

Repeat the process to add more images.

Add Video 

  • Remote video URL: enter the URL of the platform where the video is stored.
  • Supported formats: Only links from platforms like YouTube, Vimeo, or the European Commission (EC) Audiovisual Portal.
  • Click “Create Video” button. 

Once created, you can edit the information provided or remove the video.

Repeat the process to add more videos.

Collapse, Edit or Remove content blocks

Click the vertical ellipsis menu (⋮) next to the block (text, image, video, etc.) to see more options. 

  • Click “Collapse” to hide the block’s editing interface from view, it makes the editor view more compact while you work. The block itself remains in its current position, and its content is not removed or changed. 
  • When the content block is collapsed, you can click “Edit” to view the editing interface and change the information contained in the content block.
  • To delete the content block, click “Remove”. 

Reordering content blocks 

There are several ways to reorder content blocks: 

  • Use the vertical reorder handle, to move items up or down in a list.
  • Use drag and drop. 
  • Adjust row weights using the “Show row weights” function.

Vertical reorder handle 

  • Use the reorder handle (↕) on the left side of the content block, to move the item up or down in the list.

Drag and drop

  • Go to the "Content" row and click the vertical ellipsis menu (⋮)  located at the right-hand side, then click "Drag & drop". 
  • The content boxes will appear in a compact view. 
  • Use on the move handle (✥) on the left side of the content block (image, text, etc.), to drag and drop it into the desired position. 
  • Once you have finished reordering the content, click the “Complete drag & drop” button. 

Row weights

You can change the order of content blocks (text, images, videos, etc.) by showing the row weights

  • Over the Content section, on the right side, click “Show row weights”.
  • Each block has a number showing its current position. 
  • Lower numbers appear first.

Example

If the post contains:

  • Introductory text block (order 0)
  • Image block (order 1) 
  • Main text block (order 2)

To make the image appears first, change the order number:

  • Introductory text block (order 1)
  • Image block (order 0) 
  • Main text block (order 2)
