Digital Skills

Europe needs digitally empowered and capable citizens, a digitally skilled workforce and way more digital experts than today. Basic digital skills for all citizens and the opportunity to acquire specialized skills in information and communications technology (ICT) for the workforce are a prerequisite to participate actively in the Digital Decade. As part of the Digital Compass, it is our proposed level of ambition that by 2030:

  • 80% of all adults have basic digital skills
  • There are at least 20 million employed ICT specialists in the EU, with convergence between men and women
