The Apply AI Alliance is the coordination forum for stakeholders and policy makers on AI policy. The Alliance is the central point of contact through which the AI community can keep updated on the latest Commission AI News and share opinions, and the gateway to participate in the Apply AI Strategy governance structure and shape AI policy for your sector.
The Apply AI Alliance is open to all individuals and organisations, such as companies, interested in European AI policy.
Central point of contact
Building on the former European AI Alliance, the Apply AI Alliance provides a space for stakeholders to share opinions, paper and recommendations to the European Commission and the community.
The Community Exchange Platform allows users to update their content, navigating with a tag system both for different sectors and type of content.
The News section is where the European Commission updates the community on AI related news. This includes activities of the AI Office, upcoming sectorial AI policies, AI Act news and much more.
The events section allows stakeholders to amplify the reach of their event, and it allows the Commission to make the community aware of its sectoral workshops and annual AI office gatherings. These events are at the core of the Apply AI governance structure.

Governance: continuous dialogue shaping AI policy making
The Commission works with stakeholders such as companies to find solutions to challenges that hinder AI adoption, such as high costs and a lack of interoperable data or expert knowledge. Following the process set out in the Apply AI strategy, Commission departments (Directorate-Generals or ‘DGs’) organise annual sectoral workshops where you can give input on AI adoption in your specific sector.
The input is then channelled to the AI Office, who in cooperation with the sectoral DGs uses this input to inform possible policy measures, which are presented during the annual AI Office gatherings.
This governance mechanism allows your voice to be heard, and it allows the Commission to remain open and flexible to new promising AI use cases and new sectors where EU action may solve challenges to AI uptake.
The Alliance works closely and complementarily with other consultative initiatives on AI, for instance, creating links with the governance structure of the Research for AI Science in Europe (RAISE) and with the existing European Partnership on AI, data and Robotics.

Who can participate and how?
To participate in the sectoral workshops and the AI Office Gathering, sign up to the Stakeholders’ Catalogue. If you sign up to the Catalogue, the Commission may then contact you directly to invite you to participate in these events. While joining doesn’t guarantee participation, it puts you in the Commission’s ‘phonebook’, helping the Commission identify you as a stakeholder.
Signing up to the Catalogue and creating a small presentation post is enough to express interest in participating in the annual events. You don’t have to do anything more; the Commission will contact you.
Please note that only stakeholders headquartered in the EEA and Switzerland can be part of the Catalogue. If you are not based in the EEA or Switzerland, you can still be part of the Apply AI Alliance.
Additionally, the Stakeholders’ Catalogue also serves as a networking platform, where organisations can browse stakeholders by sector, being able to then contact them.
Link with other initiatives
The AI Observatory established under the Apply AI Strategy will also support the organisation of sectoral discussions. It will be used for political analysis and decision-making as well as for informing the AI community and the broader public about recent developments in the field.
The AI Board, established under the AI Act, will remain the main discussion forum on AI with Member States and will be regularly informed of the activities under the Apply AI Alliance. Through the AI Board sub-configuration on innovation, efforts will continue to monitor national AI Strategies and facilitate the exchange of best practices among Member States, including for the public sector.
