Cutting the regulatory burden for SMEs: proposals from Eurochambres report

A key commitment of the European Commission in its new term is to reduce reporting obligations on businesses, cutting them by 25% and by 35% for SMEs. Reducing regulatory burdens and EU law simplification were identified in high-level reports of Enrico Letta and Mario Draghi as key avenues to boost growth, innovation, and competitiveness in the European economy. 

Actively contributing to the initiative, Eurochambres has provided concrete examples of EU initiatives considered burdensome for businesses. The chamber emphasises that a competitive European Union requires a balanced, proportionate, and flexible regulatory environment which is SME-friendly.
