Step 1: Create a Futurium account 

I do not have an EU Login account yet 

  1. Click on the Login button at the top right corner of the page. You will be sent to the EU Login page. This is the European Commission's single user authentication service.  

  1. Create an EU Login account. Fill in First name, Last name, E-mail, etc.  

  1. Click “Create an account”. You will receive an email to complete the registration process. 

  1. Click the Link in the email to confirm your account (within a maximum of 24 hours).  

  1. Set your password. You are now logged in to EU Login. 

  1. Return to the Futurium platform and click on the Login button at the top right corner of the page. 

  1. Accept the Futurium user agreement.  

 

I already have an EU Login account 

  1. Click on the Login button at the top right corner of the page. You will be sent to the EU login page.  

  1. Enter your email address and password. 

  1. Accept the Futurium user agreement.  

 

Step 2: Join the Digital Compass Community 

  1. Go to https://futurium.ec.europa.eu/en/digital-compass  

  1. Click “Join group”. 

  1. Fill in the web form and agree to the Community terms of service. 

  1. Click “submit”. You are now a member of the Digital Compass Community. Before you can post content, you must join a subgroup.  

 

Step 3: Join subgroups 

  1. Review the different subgroups on the home page. You can join as many subgroups as you like. We recommend that you join “Governing the Digital Decade” and chose other groups based on your personal interest and expertise. 

  1. Click on the group you would like to join. 

  1. Click “Join group”.  You are now ready to post content in the subgroup.  

 

Step 4: Post content  

  1. Navigate to the group actions menu of the relevant subgroup. 

  1. Click “Add Post”. 

  2. Select the type of your post. This determines whether your post will appear on the home page only ("no type") or also under a specific tab (i.e., "Forum", "Best Practices", etc.). 

  1. Enter Title, Text, etc.  

  1. Attach documents, images and videos by clicking on the corresponding button, choosing your file and filling in the name field.  

  1. Tag your posts so that other members can find them. 

 

Step 5: Manage your notification settings 

  1. Click on “My account” at the top right corner of the page (next to “Log out”).  

  1. Navigate to “Notifications Settings”. 

  1. Make sure that “Email subscriptions” is checked. 

  1. Set your preferred notification frequency for the Digital Compass Community.
