On 6 August the opening of the new joint centre of two towns – Valga and Valka – took place on the state border of Estonia and Latvia. The reconstruction of the centre is the result of the long-term cooperation of the twin town and emphasizes the fact that the state border can be a linking element rather than obstacle in people’s lives.
