Discussing Action implementation at the 9th Urban Mobility Partnership meeting in Brussels, 31/01-01/02/2019

On 31 January and 1 February 2019, the 9th meeting of the Partnership on Urban Mobility took place at the Permanent Representation of the Czech Republic in Brussels.

Anke Karmann-Woessner and František Kubeš, Co-coordinators of the Partnership, introduced the meeting programme and opened with a presentation of the Partnership's activities. They held the meeting's main objective to be an in-depth discussion of the Action implementation roadmaps.

One of the Co-coordinators, Karlsruhe, introduced the final Action Plan as discussed and acknowledged during the DGUM meeting in November 2018, following the PUM8 meeting in Nijmegen (read a recap here). In the run-up to the PUM9 meeting, the respective Action Leaders had prepared roadmaps for each Action.

Karlsruhe went on to present the Actions in a Nutshell document outlining the Action clusters Governance and Planning, Public Transport and Accessibility, Active Modes of Transport and the Use of Public Space, and New Mobility Services and Innovation.

Subsequently, the partners discussed the implementation roadmaps with a focus on the implementation timeline, steps to be taken, and deliverables.

Day 2 of the meeting started with a discussion on the outreach aspects of Action implementation. The Technical Secretariat presented the relevant communication tools and outreach possibilities.

The meeting was brought to a close with the agreement on finalising the implementation roadmaps based on a round of mutual commenting. The outputs of the PUM9 meeting were further discussed during the Coordinators' Meeting that took place on 11 February 2019 in Brussels, gathering all Urban Agenda for the EU Partnership Coordinators.
