During the 2019 #EURegionsWeek, the Urban Agenda for the EU Partnership on Jobs & Skills in the Local Economy invites local, regional and national experts to share their experiences on education, training and life-long learning and/or on secure and adaptable employment.
As a part of the implementation phase of the Action Plan, the City of Ghent, in cooperation with City of Berlin, EUROCITIES, CEMR and DG Employment organise an interactive Lab on the European Pillar of Social Rights (EPSR) as a framework for a sustainable economy during the European Week of Regions and Cities.
Read the full Action Plan here.
The Lab will focus on how the European Pillar of Social Rights contributes to fair and well-functioning labour markets and social security systems. Examples will be presented by Mayor De Clercq (City of Ghent) and Mayor Nilsson (City of Malmö). After this setting of the scene, local, regional and national expert are invited to share experiences on education, training and life-long learning (Principle 1 EPSR) and/or on Secure and Adaptable employment (Principle 5 EPSR) with European colleagues.
The lab session fosters learning from one another’s expertise to feed into the Commission’s country reports, and participants' contributions help create more efficient monitoring systems on both topics. The Lab will be round up with reflection from the European Commission's perspective by Ms Alison Crabb.
