Denmark’s Chip Competence Centre: empowering SMEs in chip innovation

Launched in 2025, the Danish Chips Competence Centre fosters innovation in chip technology and connects Danish companies to national and European networks. The centre equips SMEs and startups with streamlined access to state-of-the-art facilities and expertise in chip design and fabrication, lowering barriers for companies entering the field.

Supported by both EU and national funding through the European Chips Act, the Chips Competence Centre provides Danish and European SMEs with specialised services for semiconductor and quantum chip design and fabrication, which are set to revolutionise industries with their unprecedented computational power.

What's on offer?
✅ Exclusive access to specialized quantum chip research facilities
✅ Collaborative opportunities with leading experts across the entire chip value chain.
✅ Denmark as your entry point to European investments and partnerships aligned with the European Chips Act.

The centre is a collaborative effort among leading Danish institutions, comprising Denmark’s Technical University’s Nanolab, Aarhus University’s ECE-lab, University of Copenhagen's Niels Bohr Institute, Danish Fundamental Metrology, and Danish Industry.

The consortium ensures that Danish companies, particularly SMEs, have access to a robust network and resources, promoting growth, collaboration, and market opportunities in the chip sector!
