Meet Bart Becks, member of the Youth Start-Up Competition jury

The finale of Youth Start-up Competition (YSC) 2024 is just around the corner, to be held at the SME Assembly 2024 in Budapest, Hungary (18-20 November).

We are pleased to announce that Bart Becks, Board Member of the European Innovation Council (EIC), will be joining the distinguished jury of the YSC 2024. Bart will be assessing the game-changing start-up ideas submitted by young entrepreneurs from across Europe.

With a proven track record of supporting digital innovation, fuelling growth and launching new initiatives, Bart has vast expertise and experience in identifying unique and innovative ideas. In addition to his role at the EIC, Bart is the co-founder of BeCentral, a large tech and digital education campus located in Brussels. He is also the Executive Chairman of E-Health Valley, an incubator with a focus on digital healthcare. Previously, Bart served as Executive Chairman of EURACTIV, a pan-European media network which publishes EU-policy-related news.

The YSC is open to entrepreneurs aged 18 and 25 who reside in an EU or COSME country and have an innovative start-up idea that can provide solutions to vital societal challenges, from the digital transition to social inclusion and sustainable development. The three shortlisted candidates will be invited to present their ideas at the SME Assembly 2024, and the winner will get the chance to attend the 2025 European Innovation Council summit.

If you have a creative solution to a societal challenge which embodies European values, register for the competition by 20 September 2024. Apply today and contribute to a greener, digital, and resilient Europe!
