The VALORADA project is pleased to announce a new series of interactive capacity-building workshops designed to empower policymakers, local and regional authorities, and relevant stakeholders with the knowledge and tools to navigate the evolving landscape of digital governance, data spaces, and green innovation procurement. 

Public administrations are increasingly facing challenges in integrating diverse data sources, ensuring digital transformation supports climate resilience, and leveraging innovative procurement strategies for sustainable development. This second series of VALORADA workshops will focus on the governance frameworks, policies, and strategies that enable effective data-driven decision-making in climate adaptation and urban planning. 

Upcoming Workshops: 

Workshop 1: Local Data Spaces and Management

📍 Speakers: Experts from CloudFerro, Lisbon Council and Epsilon Italia 

This workshop will examine the ecosystem of data spaces, their role in supporting regional and sectoral collaboration, and best practices for ensuring data interoperability and transparency in climate adaptation. Experts from CloudFerro will discuss the role of industry players in supporting European data spaces, while representatives from the USAGE project (Lisbon Council and Epsilon Italia) will provide an overview of urban data spaces and their contribution to the European Green Deal. 

Workshop 2: Green Innovation Procurement

📍 Speakers: Experts from Climate KIC, CORVERS, and G.A.C. 

This session will guide public authorities on integrating green criteria into procurement strategies, fostering carbon neutrality, and engaging with Pre-Commercial Procurement (PCP) mechanisms to drive sustainable innovation. Experts from Climate KIC will introduce the fundamentals of green procurement, CORVERS procurement specialists will explain the benefits of PCP in supporting targeted climate development, and G.A.C.Group representatives will share engagement strategies and best practices for integrating PCP into regional and local procurement frameworks. 

Workshop 3: Digital governance and stakeholder engagement

📍 Speakers: Specialists from Montpellier Metropole and the Free and Hanseatic City Hamburg  This workshop will explore how cities are navigating digital transformation to address urban challenges through responsible data governance. Specialist from Montpellier Metropole will present its AI strategy roadmap and inclusive approach to citizen engagement, while representative from the Hamburg Office for IT and Digitalisation will share her insights on the city's new Digitalstrategie and institutional structure to enhance budgetary and digital resilience.
