Short debrief on latest developments by EC-DG TRADE, followed by stakeholder-to-stakeholder discussion to provide inputs on the steps ahead.

As one of the key outcomes of the fourth Ministerial Meeting of the EU-U.S. Trade and Technology Council (TTC), the ministers endorsed a work programme for the “Transatlantic Initiative on Sustainable Trade” (TIST) that is annexed to the Joint Statement (here). This is defined over a two-tiered time horizon covering four building blocks:

  • “A sustainable business environment for an integrated transatlantic marketplace;
  • “Resilient and sustainable supply chains for the clean economy”;
  • “Benefits for workers and consumers in the green economy”; and
  • “A global path for the green transition”.

Key focus of the thematic discussion:

The TIST work programme spells out concrete actions to harness the economic opportunities from the green transition on both sides of the Atlantic, foster a transatlantic green marketplace, and strengthen the resilience of key clean tech/green supply chains. This Stakeholder Assembly & Debrief session will be an opportunity for stakeholders to share their views and comments on how to advance the implementation of the TIST work programme. All collected inputs and recommendations will be also used to steer future related stakeholder events.
