MEPs approved rules facilitating cross-border activities of associations

MEPs have approved draft rules aimed at facilitating cross-border activities, funding, and mobility for non-profit associations within the EU. The legislation introduces a new legal form known as the European cross-border association (ECBA), which will be automatically recognized across EU member states. It is expected to save 770 million euro annually on administrative and compliance costs . The regulations also ensure legal certainty for these associations, which have previously been subject to varying national laws, hindering their full potential for societal and economic contribution within the EU.
