The EU has devoted a high level of resources to ICT projects in the field of Active and Healthy Ageing (AHA). As such a considerable number of open platforms for the development of innovative solutions in the AHA domain have been created.

The PlatformUptake.eu project assesses the societal impact of these platforms, creates monitoring and evaluation toolkits, collects successful user stories and best practices to promote common evolution of such platforms within existing policy frameworks and initiatives.

To support healthcare and social care organisations and public authorities to gain more knowledge on open platforms and the application of technologies in their organisations, the PlatformUptake.eu project developed a MOOC. This MOOC can be easily followed online and is freely accessible. After completing the MOOC, the learner can request to receive a digital badge.
