The workshop will offer valuable guidance on various aspects of data management and modelling, including sourcing activity data and addressing data gaps through practical examples that highlight working with limited or alternative data sources, whether national or international. It will also cover strategies for automating data management processes to enhance efficiency. Additionally, the session will provide best practices for version control and management, specifically in the context of modelling, with insights into tools like Git and GitHub. Finally, participants will gain a deeper understanding of verification techniques, including quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) of modelling outputs, diagnostics, and methods to assess model behaviour.
Presentations will be followed by discussions with participants to address specific challenges and facilitate knowledge exchange. To improve knowledge retention amongst participants, we recommend that more than 1 participant per organisation attends this workshop to allow for varied consideration of real world applicaion of modelling techniques.
