With the Paris Saclay statement of May 2022, the EU and the U.S. reiterated their commitment to work jointly through the TTC Working Group 9 on enabling access to digital tools for SMEs on both sides of the Atlantic.

This report, written by the Trade and Technology Dialogue (TTD), takes stock of the stakeholder activities conducted in 2022 and provides an in-depth analysis of five of the main barriers EU SMEs face in their digitalisation journey. Building on an overview of existing EU and U.S. programmes in these domains, it then provides recommendations for EU and U.S. joint initiatives to further SMEs' access to digital tools.
