Background
Presented by the Commission on 8 October 2025, the Apply AI Strategy considers healthcare and pharmaceutical industries among its 12 key sectors. The strategy will foster an AI first policy where AI is considered as a potential solution whenever organisations make strategic or policy decisions, taking into careful consideration the benefits and the risks of the technology. It aims to boost innovation, particularly among SMEs, and reinforce Europe's technological sovereignty by connecting world-class infrastructure, data, and testing facilities with the needs of key industrial sectors and the public sector.
