Benelux companies join forces to eliminate trade barriers for SMEs

Entrepreneurial organizations from Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg, together with the Benelux Union, are committed to solving the main trade barriers in the Benelux for SMEs and the business sector in general. This agreement was concluded by representatives of employers and the Benelux Union today in Brussels. As a first step, the organizations presented a list of concrete issues that they will work on together in the coming months to develop a Benelux program.

Four key areas have been identified for immediate action including:

  1. Simplifying administrative processes for cross-border employees
  2.  Advocating for circular economy strategies
  3. Harmonizing public procurement approaches
  4. Coordinating fiscal policies across the Benelux region
