Expert roundtable on the legal framework for EGTC membership in Serbia – Subotica

On 22 October 2025, the first workshop of the B-Solutions Pilot Action – Serbian members in an EGTC took place at Subotica City Hall, implemented with the support of AEBR and through the professional cooperation of the BTC EGTC, CESCI, and CESCI Balkans.

The event aimed to raise awareness among Serbian national, regional, and local authorities of the institutional benefits of EGTC and ECG membership, while providing an overview of the legal foundations of EGTCs and discussing the existing legal and institutional barriers in Serbia, with a focus on identifying possible solutions to support more effective European integration.

It was a great honour to welcome
Péter Kiss-Parciu, Deputy State Secretary for Regional and Cross-border Economic Development at the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, and
Predrag Rajić, State Secretary at the Ministry of Public Administration and Local Self-Government of the Republic of Serbia, who both addressed the participants and underlined the importance of cross-border cooperation frameworks.

We would like to thank all partner institutions and participants for their valuable contributions, in particular CESCI Balkans, the Municipality of Subotica, the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina, the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, NALED, AEBR Balkans, the Nišava Euroregion and the Pannon EGTC, for their professional support and for contributing to a constructive and meaningful policy dialogue.
