Enhancing Flood and Drought Resilience Along the River Drava – Conference Invitation

Baranya County and Pannon EGTC invite you to the Resilient Borders – Cross-border cooperation in water risk management Hungarian–Croatian conference.

📅 Date: 22 September 2025
📍 Venue: Pécs, Hungary (Papnövelde u. 5.)

The conference is part of the project “Enhancing Flood and Drought Resilience Along the River Drava” (Resilient Borders), an EU co-funded initiative that brings together partners from the Croatian-Hungarian border region. The project aims to strengthen the resilience of cross-border territories against climate-related water risks – such as floods and droughts – through joint planning, innovative tools, and shared knowledge.

Why does it matter?
Floods and droughts increasingly affect the Drava region. The conference will present the new Drava Action Plan, including the Drava Data Bridge, Drava Water Bank, and Drava Resilience Academy. These concepts aim to strengthen resilience through joint planning, innovative tools and shared knowledge.

How can you contribute?

  • What are the most pressing water challenges in your border region?
  • Have you seen similar initiatives elsewhere?
  • How could cross-border cooperation be improved?
