European Media Freedom Act: Commission launches an open public consultation until 25 March

Do you think the EU should do more to ensure that the EU media market functions better?

The Commission is preparing a new landmark legislative initiative: the European Media Freedom Act, to be presented later this year. The objective is to establish a common framework for safeguarding the integrity, pluralism and independence of the internal media market.

In this context, the Commission has launched a public consultation on the European Media Freedom Act. Citizens, businesses (in particular media actors), academics, civil society, public authorities. All interested parties still have few days to provide their responses until 25 March 2022.

We would very much welcome your views in response to this consultation.
