The Institute for Transnational and Euregional Cross-Border Cooperation and Mobility (ITEM) has released its 2023 Assessment on the impact of cross-border cooperation. The assessment consists of 6 dossiers analyzing a variety of cross-border related topics, applying a common methodology. 

Dossier 5: Public Transportation in the Euregio Meuse-Rhine (student dossier) 

This dossier focuses on Euregio Meuse-Rhine's Public Transport, aiming to reveal gaps and challenges of a more cohesive network. In 2017, around 80,000 people commuted from Germany and Belgium to the Netherlands for work, highlighting the significance of efficient CBPT for regional growth. Through a mixed-methods approach, incorporating a survey on user-experiences, interviews with experts, and a literature review, this Dossier identified the contribution of cross-border public transport to the cross-border labour market and it's potential for improvement.
