The b‑solutions 3.0 initiative continues to expand its reach with the launch of two new pilot actions designed to tackle legal and administrative obstacles at European borders. The pilots are implemented under Objective 3 of the b‑solutions initiative, which provides additional support to beneficiaries who have previously received b-solutions advice. The support constitutes of a sub-grant of up to €30,000 enabling the beneficiaries to advance a chosen solution proposed in an earlier b-solutions report and to build consensus among the relevant authorities.
The New Pilot Actions
- Arrabona EGTC
Case: “Comparison of water tourism regulations on the Slovakian‑Hungarian border”
The aim of this pilot project is to develop an online platform, making the regulations governing water tourism in Hungary and Slovakia accessible to stakeholders in one place and in a clear, user‑friendly format. By harmonising information, the project seeks to unlock the potential of cross‑border tourism and to build greater mutual trust. - Municipality of Ventimiglia
Case: “Public services and cross‑border mobility”
At the Italian‑French border, this pilot action focuses on developing a cross‑border cabotage agreement. The initiative seeks to improve the daily lives of cross‑border commuters traveling between France and Italy for work, education, and essential services. Beyond individual commuters, the pilot action will also generate benefits for local businesses and public institutions.
With these two new additions, the b‑solutions 3.0 initiative now comprises nine pilot actions in total. Each pilot tackles a specific border obstacle within an individual European border region, representing a concrete step toward making cross‑border cooperation smoother, more effective, and ultimately enhancing the daily lives of people on site.
