As a follow up of activities implemented last year by the Border Focal Point, the cross border healthcare thematic network was selected under the EU Health Policy Platform for 2019.

Promoted by the Healthacross Initiative (Lower Austria) and the European Regional and Local Health Authorities network (EUREGHA), the platform hosted exchanges and discussions on challenges, obstacles and existing good practices.

This work resulted in a common vision for the future and in a number of policy recommendations for cross border healthcare. They are summarized in a Joint Statement that is now available for endorsement by any interested authority and organisation (see below). This Joint Statement and the identified building blocks pave the way for future actions and for the development of a permanent platform for stakeholders and practitioners from health, cross-border and policy-decision makers’ communities.
