The Trade and Technology Council (TTC) was launched at the EU-U.S. summit in June 2021. It serves as a forum for the European Union and the United States to coordinate approaches to key global trade, economic, and technology issues. Over the past three years, the EU-U.S. TTC has met at ministerial level on six different occasions.
At the 6th ministerial meeting held in Leuven in April 2024, the TTC encouraged both partners to reflect on the future of their trade and technology cooperation. To this end, the Commission mandated a report to gather independent stakeholder perspectives on outcomes and recommendations for the future of EU-U.S. cooperation in trade and technology.
This final summary report presents the key findings of the stakeholder consultation. It draws on a comprehensive literature review, consultations with stakeholders from industry, civil society, and trade associations, as well as insights from a two-day expert workshop held in September 2024 in Brussels.
