Together with the OECD, the Border Focal Point team of REGIO is working on ways to improve cross-border governance. In 2023-2024, 5 pilot regions have been analysed with the aim to identify key success factors for a good cross-border governance.

This exercise is allowing to develop an analytical tool to support national and sub-national administrations in establishing or reinforcing their cross-border governance architecture.

In the conference held in June, stakeholders have debated on a preliminary version of this tool, gathering more contributions for its improvement. While the final version is on the way, this draft version may allow triggering an early debate on the subject in some territories.
