Video consultation with assistance for the elderly in the field of home care

As part of the Interreg Central Europe project HoCare2.0 the service "video consultation with assistance" was developed by the University Hospital Dresden together with a regional public service provider "Cultus gGmbH" and HoCare 2.0 project partner “Carus Consilium Sachsen” in Dresden, Saxony. With the help of the co-creation approach the innovative service was developed in the field of home care. The service gives care recipients the opportunity to attend their doctor's appointment in the form of a virtual consultation. They are supported by an assistant who is responsible for preparing, accompanying and following up the video consultation. The special feature of this service compared to other services of this kind is the active support that benefits both the caregivers (nursing staff) and recipients. In previous steps of the pilot activity, care recipients and their caregivers (geriatric nurses) were recruited to participate in the project.
