In January, the Conseil départemental des Pyrénées-Atlantiques and the Diputación Foral de Gipuzkoa launched a new experiment: a joint participatory budget, called ideaiak, to encourage inhabitants to develop projects that create links between the two territories.
The partners presented their first results:
- 42 projects were put to the vote between 21 May and 17 June, covering seven topics: culture, society and living together, youth and education, sport, sustainable mobility and environment, language policy, cross-border cooperation.
- 3 544 citizens took part in the vote
- In the end, 17 projects were selected for funding
