Three cases of sustained human centricity in Irish Workplaces

These case studies have been uploaded to the platform following the Business Case Working Group meeting on 25th February 2025 where the sustainability of human centric working practices was discussed in the light of threats from internal reorganisation or external market pressures. Many companies that once exhibited exemplary practices eventually suffer ‘workplace innovation decay’ as a result of new leadership or a regression to traditional ways of working stimulated by, for example, economic factors. This is especially the case in voluntarist industrial relations contexts such as that of Ireland where workplace partnership agreements between management and unions are not backed by the force of law.

In each of these three examples, an initial intervention to stimulate workplace innovation has created a self-sustaining momentum in pursuit of human centricity over extended periods of time, withstanding both internal and external threats.

What has made the difference?
