Welcome to RE-CONNECT, a European Commission funded programme seeking to support climate-relevant modelling activities around the world.
The RE-CONNECT project is dedicated to assisting the 196 Parties committed to the 2015 Paris Agreement, established under the U.N. Framework Convention on Climate Change, in meeting their climate change obligations. RE-CONNECT aims to bolster the capacity of these developing countries to undertake robust greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions modelling and monitoring activities.
Operating until early 2028, RE-CONNECT brings together international experts and participants from diverse countries to:
- Enhance the monitoring, reporting, verification, and utilisation of GHG emissions data.
- Strengthen the capacity of Paris Agreement signatories to collect and report robust GHG emissions data and associated policies.
- Sustainably improve mitigation modelling capabilities in target countries and foster their utilisation by policymakers.
- Promote transparency in processes and reporting, fostering trust and collaboration among participating countries while accumulating robust GHG emission datasets.
Subscribe to the RE-CONNECT Climate Change Modelling Information Newsletter. The RE-CONNECT bi-monthly newsletter provides updates on the latest news, research and tools on climate modelling, mitigation, adaptation and implementation, as well best practice for compliance under the Paris Agreement. Contribute to our newsletter! If you are aware of any recent developments, publications, and/or events related to climate modelling and/or transparency that you think should feature in our bi-monthly newsletters, let us know via the link above!
Join our Members Area. Countries eligible to receive support through RE-CONNECT can request access to the private Members Area to access member-specific support, that includes:
- Expert matching for targeted modelling and/or transparency support on specific issues.
- Financial and administrative support to attend external meetings/events on modelling and/or transparency.
- Technical and administrative support to publish research in reputable outlets.
- Input to recent publications and/or developments in the modelling community.
