The 15 July was declared World Youth Skills Day by the United Nations General Assembly in 2014. The day serves to highlight the strategic importance of equipping young people with the necessary skills for employment and entrepreneurship. 

The 2024 World Youth Skills Day is themed “Youth Skills for Peace and Development”, reflecting the role that young people can play in peacebuilding and conflict resolution – one of the many challenges faced by people around the world. The day commits to providing young people with the necessary skills and opportunities to address global issues and contribute to a peaceful, prosperous, and sustainable future.
