Mr. Thomas Wilfingseder is a wheelchair user and would appreciate, if an electronic system which allows to locate disabled access toilets (such as the one which is already in use in Salzburg) would be made available all over the EU.
This would create an enormous additional value in mobility for wheelchair users.
He writes:
Als Rollstuhlfahrer würde ich mir eine App wünschen, mit der sich EU-weit alle Behindertentoiletten finden lassen.
Idealerweise sogar speziell jene, die mit dem sogenannten "Euroschlüssel" bzw. "Eurokey" ausgestattet sind.
Dieses System ist schon jetzt bei tausenden Behindertentoiletten (und tw. auch bei Pollern wie in der Salzburger Altstadt, bei Ampelanlagen, Liften etc.) in ganz Europa installiert und eine enorme Hilfe.
Aber eine App, mit der ich auch auf Reisen schnell die nächstgelegene Behindertentoilette finden und per GPS lokalisieren kann, das wäre natürlich ein großer zusätzlicher Gewinn.

Thank you very much for your proposal on how to enhance the mobility for wheelchair users. The proposal has now been presented to the eGovernment Steering Board and will be discussed at the next steering board meeting. If you have more ideas on how to increase mobility across Europe using eGovernment solutions we will be happy to hear them.
