Get all the information you need to apply for the DIGITAL call on secretarial support for the two digital Industrial Alliances

In November 2021, the European Commission published the first Call for Proposals under the Digital Europe Programme (DIGITAL). Until 22 February 2022, interested organisations will be able to submit proposals for a wide range of topics, including for the Secretariat for the Alliance on Processors and Semiconductor Technologiesand theSecretariat for the Alliance on Industrial Data, Edge and Cloud.

What are the objectives of the two industrial Alliances?

The Alliance on Processors and Semiconductor Technologies aims to gather relevant stakeholders, including industry, Member States representatives and other experts, with relevant activities in the EU and EEA in view of strengthening Europe’s industrial capacities in the design and manufacturing of advanced processors and other electronic components. In particular, it will identify current gaps in the production of microchips, as well as the technology developments needed for the European microchips ecosystem to thrive and therefore increase Europe’s digital sovereignty.

The European Alliance for Industrial Data, Edge and Cloud kicked off its operational work in December 2021 to foster the joint development and deployment of next generation edge and cloud technologies across the EU. Businesses, Member States representatives and relevant experts work together to strengthen the position of EU industry on cloud and edge technologies. The Alliance aims to serve the needs of EU businesses and public administrations that process sensitive categories of data, and has the objective to increase Europe’s leadership position on industrial data.

What are the call topics about?

The Commission is looking for dedicated applicants who would support the activity of the two Alliances by running their respective Secretariat.

The two Secretariats will work with the Commission in making the respective Alliances sustainable stakeholder platforms that will deliver on their objectives. They will offer administrative support to the Alliances’ members, working groups, steering committees and the relevant events and meetings.
