WESHARE Pilot Infographics: Visualising Energy Community Development in Practice

WESHARE is pleased to share a new set of infographics presenting the progress of our three pilot sites in Belgium, Spain and Portugal.

These visual “pilot plots” provide a clear and accessible overview of how business energy communities are being developed in different business park contexts. As WESHARE is still in its implementation phase, the infographics reflect work in progress, highlighting the practical steps, challenges and early lessons emerging from each location.

Each pilot infographic outlines:

  • The local context and target business community
  • The current stage of implementation
  • Key challenges and enabling conditions
  • The role of the emerging WESHARE business model
  • Expected impacts in terms of renewable energy production, energy savings and collaboration

The pilots are located in:

  • Antwerp Region Business Parks (Belgium) – led by POM Antwerpen & ZuidtrAnt
  • Getafe Business Park (Spain) – led by GISA
  • Setúbal Industrial Areas (Portugal) – led by ENA & AICEP

Together, these pilot experiences demonstrate how collaborative energy models can support companies in improving efficiency, increasing renewable energy uptake and strengthening energy resilience within industrial areas.

By visualising the structure and development of the pilots, the infographics aim to make the WESHARE approach more transparent and replicable supporting stakeholders, policymakers and business-park managers interested in setting up energy communities.

The WESHARE project is co-funded by the LIFE Programme of the European Union and works to empower businesses to develop energy community models that accelerate the clean energy transition across Europe.
