This COP29 side-event will focus on “Enhancing Transparency for Clearer NDCs and long-term strategies”. In this session, two EU funded projects (ELEVATE and RE-CONNECT) will come together to explore how net-zero targets are formulated and their related uncertainties, and how the current pledges and ambitions by countries relate to the Paris Agreement goals.
In light of underlying uncertainties, this session will also present current collaboration between countries in improving transparency and supporting the Biennial Transparency Reporting (BTR) process, set to conclude its first round by coming December. We invite those of you at COP29 this year to join the ELEVATE and RECONNECT teams at the event on 20th November 2024 (12:00-13:00 local time) in the Special Event Room Buta, Area B.
