E3G, an independent climate change think tank accelerating the transition to a climate-safe world, welcomes the opportunity to provide input to the European Commission's consultation on the EU-US TTC Working Group 10. The EU and the US have an enormous opportunity to lead on tackling significant climate issues through the working group on global trade challenges in the Trade and Technology Council. It is crucial to develop a strong and active working group that addresses ongoing challenges at the intersection of climate and trade, as well as committing to dialogue on reforms that ensure trade speeds up global decarbonisation over slowing down these efforts. Enclosed is a set of recommendations for both sides to prioritise in the working group on global trade challenges.
