Industrial AI: will future regulations affect existing EU legislation?

-

The European Commission has stated its ambition for the European Union to lead the way in developing and using artificial intelligence (AI) for good and for all. With its AI White Paper published last February, the Commission delineated the future regulatory framework for next-generation technology. With a number of developments recently indicating the pace of work on this strategic priority is picking up, this session offers a timely opportunity to bring together high-level stakeholders for an expert discussion on how the new AI legislation is going to correlate with the existing ones (Machinery Directive, Product Liability Directive to name a few).

Join Orgalim to gain first hand insights into the Commission’s legislative approach to AI, and participate in an expert and open, multi-stakeholder discussion on the impact on existing legislation. We will delve into specific AI issues ranging from cybersecurity, safety and liability to R&D and industrial data flows, and highlight the risks and opportunities for supporting and enhancing the EU’s industrial strategy.

The event will be hosted by Orgalim President Rada Rodriguez and moderated by Orgalim's Policy Director Christoph Luykx, and a selected group of experts will contribute to this important discussion on the future of EU industrial policy:

  • Kilian Gross, Head of Unit, Technologies and Systems for Digitising Industry, DG CONNECT, European Commission

  • Eva Virtute, Associations Manager, KION Group AG

Other speakers will be confirmed.
