The current COVID-19 pandemic has demonstrated that public administrations need to speed up their digital transformation in order to effectively respond to today’s and tomorrow’s crises.

Be it the testing of an AI-enabled data analytics tool or designing a full-fledged digital strategy, it is often difficult for cities and municipalities to decide on a specific supplier or solution. Moreover, it is not only a merely digital transition, but one that is also sustainable, circular and resilient.

Digital Innovation Hubs (DIHs), Living Labs, City Labs or other, locally/regionally embedded innovation structures could be helpful to work with. The webinar aims at bringing together DIHs, Living Labs, City Labs, Policy Labs as well as cities and municipalities to share good practices for helping cities develop their digital strategies, establish the foundations of their smart city and start developing concrete services. The workshop will allow stakeholders to gain a better understanding of the kind of services DIHs could offer to public administrations at local level and progress in identifying what the DIHs technological and innovation services could encompass when serving the public sector.
