Overcoming cross-border obstacles: apprenticeships and recognition of qualifications in the EU week of Regions and Cities

In a recent session of the European Week of Regions and Cities cross-border cooperation in apprenticeships and qualification recognition took center stage. The session moderated by Martín Guillermo Ramírez, featured Isabelle Boudineau, a COR member from Nouvelle-Aquitaine Region, who stressed the importance of such cooperation initiatives, while Mr. Nuno Almeida, Director of the Galicia Norte Portugal European Grouping of Territorial Cooperation, shared insights on overcoming challenges in cross-border vocational education and training. 

Highlighting the INTERREG FORMA NAEN project, Leyre Azcona, Project Manager at EGTC Euroregion Nouvelle-Aquitaine Euskadi Navarra, showcased a successful methodology for certifying the automotive sector workforce across France and Spain. The session underscored the potential for collaborative efforts to break down barriers and create opportunities for vocational education across borders, offering inspiration for future similar cross-border initiatives.
