Annual Report on Intra-EU labour mobility 2020

The European Commission has just published the Annual Report on Intra-EU Labour Mobility - 2020The Analysis identifies trends in free movement of workers and their family members, based on the latest available data (2019/2018). The main findings are summarised here: Labour mobility at a glance.

- In 2019, there were 1,5 million cross-border workers (small decrease)

- The main countries of residence of cross-border workers working either in another EU Member State or an EFTA country were: France (398 000), Germany (234 000) and Poland (222 000).

- The main countries of work were Germany (396 000) and Switzerland (381 000), Luxembourg (190 000), Austria (177 000) and the Netherlands (116 000).
