UniGR-CBS: Forums Greater Region - a series of panel discussions involving research, politics, and citizens

One of the activities of the Interreg V A Greater Region project "UniGR-Center for Border Studies (UniGR-CBS)" consists in regularly organizing panel discussions on current cross-border topics involving researchers, politicians, and citizens. The objective is to offer a platform for dialogue and exchange between the different socio-economic actors of the territory and reserchers in the field of Border Studies. The idea is that the letter can contribute to evidence-based political solutions for cross-border issues thanks to their scientific expertise and research activities providing concrete data.

All the Forums take place in the "House of the Greater Region" in Esch-sur-Alzette (Luxembourg), a location housing nine different bodies of cross-border cooperation in the Greater Region since 2015, among them the EuRegio Saar-Lor-Lux+ and the EGTC Summit Secretariat of the Greater Region which supports the panel series Forum Greater Region. The House of the Greater Region was specially conceived as a place of encounter and exchange, also for citizens.

While the first Forum Greater Region of June 2018 was centered on cross-border mobility on the labor market, the second one of November 2018 was focused on cross-border mobility in education. Reports on the first two Forums are available on the website of the University of the Greater Region - UniGR (http://www.uni-gr.eu; in French and in German), lead partner of the project in partnership with six universities (of Lorraine, Saarland, Liège, Luxembourg, Trier, Kaiserslautern) and in cooperation with numerous assiociated partners of the Greater Region. The next Forum will take place on 14 March 2019 on migration and borders.
