Tackling administrative obstacles that hinder cross-border mobility of workers

Although in a lesser extend than other European crossborder regions, The Italian - Slovenian border region is seeing and increase in frontier workers, i.e. workers that reside in one country, but work in another. Although tax issues are generally well regulated by EU directive, in practice there are situations where it is not clear (neither for the worker, nor for the employer) which information should be provided to the relevant authorities. In order to seek a practical solution to share the relevant income information of a frontier worker, the project XBORDER-WORK, funded with the financial support of B-solutions, aims at a creating a bilingual form that would allow this. The project is lead by the Autonoumous Region Friuli Venezia Giulia, The Employment agency of the Republic of Slovenia and the Slovene Regional Economic Union as affiliated partner. During the project, a bilingual form was developed and tested with Italian and Slovenian companies. The results of the project will be presented at 2 separate press conferences in Italy and Slovenia at the end of October 2019.
