Women in AI - a new, empowering initiative for women in Georgia

As Georgia's National Statistics Office claims, women's participation in the information and communications technology (ICT) sector has remained low. This limited involvement of girls and women in tech is largely attributed to a lack of awareness about ICT careers and persistent gender stereotypes that continue to categorize professions as either "women's" or "men's" work.

Business and Technology University (BTU) is among few Georgian institutions that has ambitious goal to enhance women's Tech skills, equip them with the right knowledge and enable their active participation in tech-related jobs. With this ambition and an accurate plan of action, BTU implements various initiatives and actions towards women empowerment.

'Women in AI' project - implemented by BTU, supported by UN Women and the Norwegian Government -  will put efforts to strengthen and promote the participation of women in technology. Within its framework, 200 women from all over Georgia will be selected and then trained in artificial intelligence and web development for nine months.
