Action Group A1 - Adherence to prescription and medical plans
EIP on AHA’s Action groups were (2012-2020) a community of partners committed to work on specific issues related to active and healthy ageing. They did this by sharing their knowledge and expertise with their peers, increasing the added-value of their national and local experience, and identifying gaps that need to be fulfilled at European level. Currently, Futurium is the platform of choice for partners to continue to share their work.
The main objective of the A1 Action Group on prescription and adherence to medical plans was to improve the quality of life and health outcomes of older people living with chronic conditions by delivering tangible adherence approaches for patients in various disease areas. Its action was based on a holistic approach, including enhanced self-care, personalised care, better adequacy of treatment and increased adherence to safe and effective care plans. Innovative organisational, technical and medical practices for better adherence can lead to more efficient use of resources and the efficiency of health interventions. Ultimately, it can improve the health of patients, their quality of life, reduce worsening of the disease and avoid unnecessary hospitalisations.
This Action Group brought together partners representing more than 100 multi-stakeholder commitments from national and regional administrations, local authorities, research centres, academia, industry (including SMEs) and advocacy organisations from across the EU.
