Announcing the next speaker for the upcoming Beyond Borders Breakfast Debate! Ruslan Zhechkov, Principal Consultant, Technopolis. This debate complements DG REGIO's latest report: 'Strengthening the Resilience of EU Border Regions: Mapping Risks and Crisis Management Tools and Identifying Gaps.' As such, it will focus on improving disaster resilience and crisis management in EU border regions. 

Ruslan Zhechkov is a Principal Consultant in Technopolis Group. He has 22 years of experience in different areas of the green and circular economy and climate change and much experience in EU and private funding. Ruslan has worked with reputable clients such as DG CLIMA, DG Regional and Urban Policies, ESPON, DG Environment, the World Bank, OECD on the issues of resilience and good environmental governance. 

Whilst being a senior expert resource efficiency and environment within the Policy Learning Platform of Interreg Europe, Ruslan worked with the issue of cross-border cooperation including on the topic of civil protection. Ruslan was deeply involved during the creation of the study on 'Strengthening the Resilience of EU Border Regions: Mapping Risks and Crisis Management Tools and Identifying Gaps' implemented during 2023.
