Frontières et représentations sociales - Questions et perspectives méthodologiques

The book addresses the matter of borders and cross-border spaces' social representations. The purpose is to improve the understanding of borders' representation and the knowldge of the methods employed to analyse it. Whereas border and borderlands can be investigated "from outside", the authors claim that it is by analysing them "from inside" - i.e. through the subjective representations of the actors living near the border and thus experiencing the border every day - that we are able to gain a solid understanding of borders' representation.

The book is a set of contributions by different authors, that correspond to three kinds of methods adopted to analyse these representations : by practices; by speeches; and by artifacts.
