In the framework of the b-solutions initiative, AEBR is collecting cases of cross-border obstacles. To identify more obstacles hindering cross-border cooperation, AEBR has opened acall for information dedicated to people who live and work in border regions.

Through a short online form,AEBR aims to spot, collect and follow up on the challenges which individuals face when conducting activities across borders (working, going to school, commuting, setting up a business, accessing information or public services, getting reimbursed for medical costs, etc.).

The form is available in various languages and is accessible to everyone.

In an effort to improve cross-border cooperation, AEBR wants to address situations in which diplomas are not recognised in the neighbouring country, healthcare offers on the other side of the border are not automatically accessible, public transport does not reach across the border. To discover more examples, you can read through a storytelling booklet illustrating previously collected obstacles which were analysed under b-solutions.  

If you are concerned by such challenges, please inform us through this call for information and we will use your information/testimony to better address cross-border obstacles and identify possible solutions. If possible, please share the call for information with your network in border regions.

b-solutions is an initiative of the European Commission which aims to find solutions to obstacles of a legal and/or administrative nature that hinder cross-border cooperation through the support of experts who offer advice. The Association of European Border Regions (AEBR) manages the action on behalf of DG REGIO.

The call for information runs in parallel to a call for proposals opened to public bodies and cross-border structures, with the objective to address a greater number of obstacles.
