The future of sustainable infrastructure and mobility in cross border regions and the importance of cooperation.

On the 27th of September 2023, the House of the Dutch Provinces (HNP) along with the Institute for Transnational and Euregional cross border cooperation and Mobility (ITEM) hosted an event on the future of sustainable infrastructure and mobility. 

During the event, a number of policy makers, politicians, scientists and other relevant stakeholders came together to discuss the future of sustainable infrastructure and mobility, particularly focusing on cross border cooperation of the regions in North Rhine-Westphalia, the Benelux and the Netherlands. 

Participants, discussed the strategic vision for the future and discussed a wide variation of topics that included inland waterway transportation, new instruments and initiatives for cross border cooperation and the need for involvement of younger generations in the plan making process.

ITEM is also about to host their Annual Conference which you can also register for here. The conference this year will focus on the topic of  "Infrastructure and mobility: "Strong connections with neighboring countries towards a sustainable and liveable society across the border" and is planned for the 17th of November.
