[SAVE THE DATE] Beyond Borders: Breakfast Debates – Border regions and the European Green Deal: managing the clean energy transition

Border regions and the European Green Deal

Following the success of the second ‘Beyond Borders: Breakfast Debate’ in April, the next edition of the series will focus on Border regions and the European Green Deal: managing the clean energy transition and will take place on Thursday 24th June.

In the context of the European Green Deal, which aims to make the EU environmentally sustainable, neighbouring border regions can greatly benefit from synergies and cooperation in the development of sustainable energy systems. There are many examples of collaborative renewable energy strategies across the EU border regions, although there are also obstacles that hinder the implementation of such cooperation.

At the event, speakers from the European Commission will present the role of border regions in enabling the transition towards a climate neutral Europe, while the speakers from a number of cross-border initiatives will share their daily experiences and solutions for sustainable energy systems in EU border regions.

The event will be held online on the Hopin platform. Further information will be available closer to the event.
